Our story.....

Constructing Zappia Vending & Food Service.

Zappia Vending Service was established in 1947 by Anthony Zappia. The business grew out of a simple restaurant when Anthony purchased a number of food vendors to compliment his catering operation at the Commercial Enterprises Division of the C.H. Stuart Company in Newark.

In 1962, when the operation was incorporated, a larger warehouse facility was built on North Main Street in Newark. The new warehouse was constructed to house offices, equipment and vehicle maintenance bays. The facility also offered additional square footage for tobacco and confections. This additional space allowed the prospering company to make purchases directly from the manufacturers.

In 1968, Wills Vending Inc. was established as a separate division of Zappia Vending Service Inc. The establishment of Wills allowed for a sizable expansion into the Fulton and Oswego areas.

In 1970, following graduation from LeMoyne College, Anthony's son Frank joined the company.  As the company success continued, the family management team expanded to include Anthony’s sons Jim and Bob and his daughter Patricia. In 1995, as Anthony embarked on “true” retirement, his granddaughter, Frank’s daughter and a member of the 3rd generation,     Kari Durham joined the firm.

Today the Zappia facility is located on Ford Street in Newark. The warehouse holds the latest in equipment and it is with great pride that we continue to prosper under the supervision of a Zappia family management and staff.
